Together with MVV Energie AG, GKM and STRABAG Umwelttechnik GmbH, a plant is being built on the site of the Mannheim power station (GKM) that will provide up to 165 megawatts of thermal output and supply around 40,000 households with climate-friendly district heating.
As the responsible general planner, INP Germany is overseeing the entire plant across several technical and organisational service phases. These include preliminary, draft and approval planning, as well as the specification and tendering of the main components, including construction. In addition, INP is responsible for awarding contracts and coordinating all other necessary planning activities relating to the integration of the new heat pump system into the overall site of the Mannheim large power plant (GKM).
A key focus is on technical integration into the existing system. This includes, among other things:
With this holistic planning, INP is making a significant contribution to developing a functional, efficient and sustainable overall system at GKM.
This project stands for teamwork, sustainability and engineering excellence – and is an important step towards decarbonising heat supply in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region.
