INP PANEL DISCUSSION AT UN CLIMATE SUMMIT - A SUCCESSFUL EVENT

INP International Projects hosted a well-received panel discussion in the Green Zone at the UN Climate Change Conference COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt on Nov. 15, 2022.

The eagerly awaited panel discussion in Hall A of the "Green Zone" of the World Climate Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh started yesterday punctually at 16.00 CET under the moderation of Prof. Dr. Nicole Graf, Rector of DHBW and Advisory Board Member of INP International Projects.

Prof. Graf was joined on the panel by the following experts on green energy implementation:

  • Andreas Becker (CEO, thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions Egypt)
  • Alaa Kamal (CEO, INP Egypt LLC)
  • Dr. Hans-Ulrich Thierbach (CEO, Steinmüller Engineering GmbH, Germany)
  • Dr. Muhammad Musa Omran (CEO, Electricity Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency)

The participants entered a lively discussion on the topic "Utilizing the Overcapacity of Renewable Electric Power Available in Egypt". The possibilities and preconditions were highlighted, how renewable energy generated in Egypt can be utilized both in the country but its overcapacity also beyond Egypt, e.g. in Europe. In particular, in the form of hydrogen, the "green" energy generated mainly by photovoltaics could be transported via different infrastructures and thus both taken to distant locations and used in other forms, e.g. via electrolysis as fertilizer or as fuels. The possibilities are manifold, as the diagram shows

The contributions of the panel triggered a lively discussion with many questions and requests to speak from the audience. As could be felt, it was a groundbreaking event on a relevant topic on the way to a greener future.
