Regional heat planning made by INP

After INP Deutschland GmbH was commissioned to carry out the heat planning for the municipality, the first information event took place in May this year in the Festhalle Dudenhofen. It was a successful start, with around 100 interested citizens learning more about the possible ways to achieve a climate-neutral heat supply by 2040.

INP began by presenting its analysis of the current situation, which covers both heat demand and current CO2 emissions. This was followed by a look at the possibilities for energy saving and energy generation. Renovation of existing buildings was identified as offering great potential for future savings. According to the analysis, only about 4% of houses built before 1984 have been completely renovated. The Rhineland-Palatinate Consumer Protection Agency also provided information on various types of heating. Specifically, climate-neutral energy could be generated for the municipality through deep geothermal energy, large heat pumps on the Rhine, or a heat pump in the Römerberg sewage treatment plant.

The measures that can be implemented are currently being worked out. The plans are to be made public in October, and the next information event will take place on November 5.
