Tobias Hoffmann Announced as New CEO of INP Austria

On October 1, 2020, the shareholders of INP International Projects appointed the former authorized representative of INP Austria GmbH, Tobias Hoffmann, to join Knut Mertens as the CEO.

Tobias Hoffmann’s career at INP began in 2006 as commissioning engineer for control and automation technology.

Brief highlights of Hoffmann’s career: He finished top of his guild in his initial training, attended the technical college for mechanical engineering, and then enlisted in the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) for four years as a decorated, corporal, which included one tour in Kosovo. After graduating from the technical college for mechanical engineering, he took up his first job in an engineering office.

When Hoffmann joined INP, his career path continued to develop steadily. Through successful completion of projects, he quickly positioned himself for an executive position with personnel responsibility. He supervised bachelor and master theses as well as a doctorate and established an international network in business and politics. In 2011, his focus shifted to Austria for the first time, when he took over projects from INP Deutschland GmbH as Key Account Manager and subsequently became Sales Manager Austria in 2013. With a new strategic realignment, he already achieved a significant increase in sales and profits in 2013. In 2014, Hoffmann was able to secure frame contracts for INP Austria GmbH with various major Austrian players and continue the successful course. Therefore, INP Austria needed new business premises, which it found in Gallneukirchen.

After Hoffmann was appointed authorized representative in 2015 by shareholder resolution, 2016 proved to be a difficult year for him on a personal level: Hoffmann’s foster daughter, who was also employed at INP, died unexpectedly, and Hoffmann and his wife were involved in a serious traffic accident caused by a wrong-way driver in the same year. Six months later, after coming out of a coma, 15 surgeries, and a long rehabilitation period, Hoffmann was finally able to return to work. However, during this time he received great support from his employees and business partners as well as the INP parent company in Römerberg, Germany. It allowed him to control the operations from his sick bed. In 2019, another move became necessary. The company stayed in Gallneukirchen but moved to Business Center ONE, where INP found the perfect conditions for its needs. The reason for the move: The successful team had once again become too large for the available office space.

When asked about his appointment as Managing Director, Hoffmann said: “With persistence and hard work, I was able to work my way up from commissioning engineer to CEO at INP. I was always treated fairly and supported in all efforts. Moreover, I’ve not only met great coworkers here, but also true friends.”

INP International Projects, represented by Knut Mertens and Georg Jester, thank Tobias Hoffmann for his long-standing commitment, loyalty, and friendship and look forward to working with him in the coming years.
