Project description
The South African power supply firm ESKOM is the biggest electricity producer in Africa and the seventh largest in the world. ESKOM operates several large power plants, including the world‘s largest coal-fired power plant or the only nuclear power plant on the African continent. More power plants are planned or their constructions are already in progress. In two currently constructed gas turbine power stations in Atlantis (Cape Town) and Mossel Bay, INP supported Siemens in South Africa with personnel for commissioning and installation supervision of the turbines, each with 147 MW. For the extension of five to nine gas turbines in Atlantis and two to five gas turbines in Mossel Bay (in total 2058 MW) Siemens South Africa assigned INP South Africa with the electrical commissioning and installation management.
