Kühmoos Schluchseewerk – Substation

The central control systems taken into operation in 1993 at the Kühmoos site near Bad Säckingen were to be renewed. It was necessary to prepare functional specifications for the call for tenders in order to achieve a detailed description of the required functions. The new control systems in Kühmoos were to be equipped with several workplace computers and redundant master computers. For this purpose, signals from plant components as well as signals from power plants with separate, existing control systems and those systems at the Kühmoos (e.g. 220/380 kV switchgear system, plant power, etc.) had to be integrated as well as signals from the upper Rhine power plants and communication with the partners RWE Power, EnBW ETG, Amprion and Transnet BW. The load distribution or control system carries out tasks of power plant application, water resources planning in the Schluchseewerk and Rhine area, the energy industry and control of the switchgear systems and monitoring functions. Furthermore, the reporting and settlement system was integrated for two partners with regard to water resources planning and energy from the 20 machinery sets.
